At the very end of June and first part of July Richie was the speaker at a junior high youth conference called Reformed Youth Movement. So we spent another week in Panama City Beach, FL. It was such a fun week for our family, and the beach was beautiful. The kids' favorite day was the day that we went to the local water park. It brought back lots of memories from our childhood and summer days spent on the lazy river! (I promise I went on this trip! There were somehow no pictures of me though.)
We stopped in Jackson on our way back from Florida and spent several nights there with my family over the 4th of July. It was a great visit. Maggie had just had another set of puppies, so the kids had so much fun playing with them.
Dad took Richie, David and I kayaking on the Pearl River early one morning. We saw a lot of alligators and herons, and it could easily become one of my new favorite hobbies.
Dad, Richie, David and I ran in the Watermelon Classic 5K on the 4th of July. Mamie and Griffin ran in the one-mile race. It was HOT and hilly, but a lot of fun.
Margaret dominated and brought home the gold in the 100-yard dash after some coaching by her Uncle David. She was so proud, and on a side note she was clearly the oldest participant.
