Sessions National Park
I love state and national parks, and I am obviously passing that love down to the kids. Last week they made the Sessions National Park in our yard, and took Richie and I for a tour.
This is the entrance sign to the park...admission was a penny.
This is the map of the park.
The "dewey spider web" - it was a limited time exhibit only available in the morning.
Holes...Griffin informed us that he "thinks" trap-door spiders might live here.
The tree stump...counting the rings to determine how old it is.

Project 52 - KaBoom
The theme for this week's Project 52 is KaBoom. We didn't go watch any fireworks shows this year, but we did enjoy sparklers with friends after swimming on the 4th.

LuvMud 2012
Richie and some of his co-workers entered as a team in the LuvMud Island race last weekend. The kids and I went down to Mud Island to watch. It is a 5K obstacle course race. It was a really fun (and hot) event, and the kids really want to participate in the 1 mile kid's race next year. Griffin was dying to jump into the mud pit!

July 4, 2012
Happy (belated) 4th of July! We had such a good time celebrating this year. We started off the morning by going to the Avon neighborhood parade. We decorated scooters and bikes and paraded around the block. The kids enjoyed popsicles from the ice cream truck.
Griffin went with a minimalist decorating approach, and just taped a single flag to his bike.
In other news...Mamie is in Dallas visiting her best friend's grandmother. We miss her, but they are having a blast!
I made some patriotic desserts.
We went swimming, grilled out and did sparklers with some good friends.
Project 52 - School's Out
The theme for this week's Project 52 is School's Out. Since school is out, I am trying to do a craft with the kids once a week. Last week we made pet rocks! I think they turned out so cute.
