Headbands

On Monday Mamie and I had some time together to do a craft.  She chose to make these reversible headbands.  I thought this would be a good beginner sewing project, but there were several steps that were too advanced.  She still had fun picking out the fabric and helping with some of the steps.  We had a fun time, and I thought they turned out really cute!  (We ended up making one for Margaret too, since the first one we made Mamie was too small.)

Fall Sewing results

I completed the Kids' Week Clothing Challenge this week.  I didn't get very much accomplished.  Yard work, kids on Fall Break, etc... were all competing for my attention.  I hope to get some other things completed later on this month.

I made this skirt for Margaret.


I made a skirt from this pattern for Mamie.  She LOVES it which is a huge win for me since it is getting harder and harder to find clothes for her that we both like!

Fall Sewing

I am participating in this kids' clothes sewing challenge this week.  

I did this back in the Spring, and it helped motivate me to get several projects done.  Hopefully, I will have as much success this season!

KWCC 2012

I completed the Kids' Week Clothing Challenge, and I actually finished several things! My goal was to try to spend as little as possible by using free patterns and fabrics that I already had.

I made this sundress for Margaret.  She didn't like the fabric at first, but it ended up being her favorite because of the ties.

I made this skirt for Margaret.  She loves the pockets and the fact that it twirls.

Another skirt for Margaret.  I even used the same fabric, because she loved it!

I made this peasant dress for Margaret.

Finally, I made this blouse for Mamie to wear with skirts to church.  The pattern was Simplicity 2435.  Unfortunately, it has been discontinued.  This blouse took me a pretty long time to sew, and I think even longer to iron.  She was very pleased with the way it turned out though, so it was worth it!

Sewing Week

I am participating in this kids' clothes sewing challenge this week.  

I thought it would help keep me motivated to actually complete some things I have been wanting to make for the girls this Spring.  It's a great idea and very "do-able"...sew for just one hour every day for a week.  It's not too late to participate if you need some inspiration!
