The girls were playing "spies" this past weekend. They started out by spying on Richie and Griffin while they were playing basketball. They wore their sunglasses the whole time even though it was overcast outside. This is how the storyline went...the girls were caught spying, and Margaret was captured. Mamie saved her, but then the guys captured their spy dog. Mamie reclaimed her dog, but then Richie stole her getaway car. (I can't believe we are still wearing shorts in December!)
December got off to a busy start, and I got very behind on blogging. So here is a quick synopsis of what we have been doing. It started off with Margaret's church choir program, and she was Mary.
I have been baking and cooking a lot for school parties and teacher luncheons. I made these yummy sugar cookie bars.
Next we had Margaret's kindergarten Christmas program. She was an angel in this one.
Our playroom chalkboard....
Griffin was sick last weekend, and enjoyed a lazy day around the house.
I sneaked up and caught this shot of Margaret rocking out with her ipod. She was REALLY getting into this song!
Every year we give the kids a new Christmas ornament. This year Mamie got a polar bear listening to an ipod, Griffin got a Lego star wars stormtrooper, and Margaret got a penguin popsicle frame ornament.
Playing outside some...
The fruit Christmas tree I took to Margaret's kindergarten Christmas party (thanks to Pinterest)!
We decorated the teepee in Griffin's room.
Loving our Christmas tree
My yearly Christmas lunch for the kids (I'm sure I won't be able to do this much longer for my older two).
Margaret had a "show off" day for the parents in her ballet class last week.
Mamie is in the 5th grade choir at her school, and they did a Christmas performance. They did a wonderful job. We were so far back, that you couldn't really see her in my pictures, but here she is afterwards.

The theme for this week's Project 52 is Oh The Rush! In our attempt to focus on the true meaning of Christmas and not get too caught up in the rush, we started our advent devotions last Sunday. Richie and I love this time with our kids.
The St. Jude marathon was this weekend. I ended up getting injured at the last minute, and I was unable to run. Richie ran the half marathon though, and he ran as a hero in my place! It was hard for me to stand on the sidelines after so much training. I ended up having a lot of fun cheering with the kids and some friends though. Thank you so much to all of you who supported me as a hero!
Since I was a hero, we got to stay in a hotel downtown. It was really fun to be downtown during December. We went to see the Nutcracker at the Orpheum on Saturday afternoon. Afterwards we went to the Peabody Hotel to see all of the decorations and to watch the ducks march.
